Volunteer

If you have chronic kidney disease or have a loved one with the disease, you can influence the Ontario healthcare system by sharing your experiences. We welcome you to join our community of patient and family advisors, where you can contribute your voice to our kidney care programs and initiatives.

Become a Patient and Family Advisor

Patient and family advisors are people who have been affected by chronic kidney disease, such as patients, family members or caregivers. Advisors share their experiences to help us improve kidney care in Ontario.

Get Involved in Your Community

Most of Ontario’s Regional Renal Programs have volunteer opportunities for patients, family members and caregivers. There may be opportunities in:

  • local patient and family advisory councils
  • peer support programs
  • peer mentoring programs

Ask a member of your kidney care team about how you can get involved, or contact your Regional Renal Program.
