Provincial Medical Leads

Ontario Renal Network is now part of Ontario Health, an agency created by the Government of Ontario with a mandate to connect and coordinate our province’s health care system to help ensure that Ontarians receive the best possible care.

The Ontario Health website contains information about our board of directors and leadership.

The provincial medical leads oversee the strategic direction and implementation of priorities laid out in the Ontario Renal Plan. The leads help improve kidney care for patients by:

  • collaborating with regional directors and regional medical leads
  • leading a panel of clinical and administrative members that sets the region’s priorities for a specific topic area (e.g., primary care, data analytics and reporting)
  • leading quality improvement strategies in the region
  • engaging primary care providers, nephrologists, hospital leaders and stakeholders
