Denominator Patient Cohort:

Patients who initiated chronic dialysis

Exclusions:
  • Patients younger than 18 years old
  • Patients who recovered kidney function within 30 days after dialysis initiation
  • Patients who had transplants prior to dialysis start
  • Patients who were first seen by a nephrologist less than 12 months before dialysis initiation
Numerator Subset of Denominator:

Patients who initiated chronic dialysis with at least 12 months of MCKC/CRC follow-up prior to dialysis start (i.e., patients whose first MCKC/CRC visit was at least 12 months prior to chronic dialysis start, who had at least 2 MCKC/CRC visits in the year leading up to the chronic dialysis start)
